visual complexity: two types

I like sites like this so much… a really rich set of examples of tackling the problem of presenting complex sets of data, sometimes in a really beautiful way. (via del.icio.us)

Related, though completely orthogonal, is this set of abstract photos taken by tossing camera phones in the air (again via boing boing, which has been delivering the goods lately).

There’s also the photo up there in the header, taken at the chateau in Chambord, France, that amost looks like video feedback. It was taken from the bottom of a tall tower — almost a minaret — with the sun shining down from above.
