Can it really be real? Mothers Against Noise. They seem to have their shit together — maybe they infiltrated No Fun Fest earlier this year down at The Hook. I feel like I might have seen their leader there, trying to look kind of goth:

This is some strident cultural criticism if I’ve ever heard it!
Capitalistic culture knows this and manipulates this system of marketing rebellion, if we don’t stop this Noise trend right now, it might just be the final step tword the complete collapse of civilized culture. If all the elements of art are removed from art, the soul of a culture is dead. And that is exactly what Noise is. Sound of a dead soul.
And good christ what a list they provide:
BIGGEST OFFENDERS:
WOLF EYES
SONIC YOUTH
MERZBOW
WHITE HOUSE
RADIOHEAD
PRURIENT
TLASILA / ANDREW WK
LIGHTNINGBOLT
EMIL BEAULIEAU
Noses to the grindstone, Sword Heaven, I know you’ll make the list someday.

Sound of a Dead Soul is a decent band name. If M.A.N. is real, you can call me John Cage.

yeah the bastards. it’s just a marketing ploy for a noise compilation!

Does anyone else find it kind of odd that Thurston Moore and Don Fleming would be in a band with Andrew W.K.? Or is that part of the hoax?
Sorry if my html didn’t work in this, by the way.

Apparently, I don’t know enough about this Andrew W.K. fellow, because he was also in Wolf Eyes for a short period of time (according to Wikipedia).

Yeah Andrew WK is a surprising dude! He had some early releases on Quintron’s label Bulb Records — they also released some Wolf Eyes stuff I think. You are by no means alone in thinking this is pretty strange!
